The Teton Valley Foundation's mission is to organize and implement cultural, educational and recreational opportunities for the benefit of the community.
The Foundation's primary activity is to host world-class, multi-day events intended to promote, market and enhance the unique nature of Teton Valley and increase economic activity in the community.
It has been a very exciting year for the Teton Valley Foundation. We experienced out most successful summer of Music on Main yet, with the highest attendance we've seen and some truly outstanding, memorable performances. We hired an executive director, we modified out organizational structure to better adapt to additional programs, and we added Teton Basin Ice and Recreation as a program under the TVF umbrella. We created a new music series in Driggs on Sunday afternoons, and we are incredibly excited about having Music on Main in Victor City Park during the summer of 2010.
The Teton Valley Foundation was formed to "organize and implement cultural, educational and recreational opportunities for the benefit of the community." During the first several years of its existence, the Teton Valley Foundation focused primarily on bringing cultural opportunities to Teton Valley through its annual free, all-ages concert series, "Music on Main," and beginning this year, the "Driggs Outdoor Concert" series. TVF has been looking for ways to expand programming that fulfill the Recreational and Educational components of our mission.
As of May 1, the Teton Valley Foundation (TVF) and Teton Basin Ice and Recreation (TBIR) have joined forces by way of a merger.
Teton Basin Ice and Recreation was founded with the goal of bringing affordable recreational opportunities to the residents of Teton Valley. The primary goal of TBIR was to establish a permanent Ice Rink / Multi-Use Recreation facility. TBIR is in the process of completing Phase 1 of construction on this facility in Victor, Idaho. After the exceptional community response to the first year of the permanent ice rink, TBIR is looking forward to building a warming hut this summer and continuing the growth and expansion of the Ice Rink, kids programs, and adult programs. The TBIR name will continue as the program name for the ice rink and associated activities and other future recreational programming.
The merged organization allowed for the hiring of an executive director, helps to defer costs over multiple programs, improves the likelihood of receiving grant funding, and increases community awareness of all that the Teton Valley Foundation does and hopes to do. As with all nonprofit organizations, we rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to offer our programming to the community. If you have any interest in participating or helping with music, ice hockey or figure skating, or are interested in using the Kotler Arena facility, please contact Jeff Potter at jeff@tetonvalleyfoundation.org.
We look forward to continuing the growth of the Teton Valley Foundation to benefit all of Teton Valley with Cultural, Educational, and Recreational programs.
